Dr. Ahmed Elshaer is an Associate Professor at Lakehead University and is deeply passionate about academia and da’wah. He has more than 20 years of experience in academia in Canada and internationally, having worked and studied seven different academic institutions.
He serves as a board member (Shura) at the Thunder Bay Masjid and as a board member (Councillor) at Professional Engineers Ontario. From a business perspective, he holds an MBA and completed a three-month training in organizational leadership at Harvard University. He also holds a two-year diploma in Islamic studies and da’wah, in addition to three degrees in engineering.
With experience linked to institutions such as universities, charitable organizations and regulatory bodies, Dr. Elshaer brings strong governance, strategic planning, and collaborative skills that align well with the values and vision of Islamic education.
